East Coast Employee of the Month for March, 2008 The East Coast Employee of the Month for March 2008 is Rachel Carder. Rachel joined the team at Lucius E. & Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library in Collierville as Circulation Supervisor in August 2007. Rachel attended Lambuth University in Jackson Tennessee and has experience in customer service and teaching.

Co-workers recognized from the beginning that Rachel has a calm demeanor, positive attitude and ability to learn quickly. She dove right in and worked through her responsibilities asking questions when needed and always completing her tasks. After only one month on board she was faced with a vacancy in Circulation and the interviewing and hiring process. Rachel fit in right away with Unit Heads and brought an intelligent fresh eye to the process.

Patrons interact very well with Rachel who is patient, firm, fair and calm. The Head of the Germantown, TN library commented that Rachel is nice and they enjoy working with her. Her staff and the staff from the Town of Collierville also commented on the good job she is doing and how pleasant she is with her good sense of humor. She knows many patrons and when they are in the library they will stop just to talk
